From the Abraham Accords to Normalizing Jewish-Muslim Relations
Reut gather 60 leaders for a two-day summit in DC
On September 14-15 in Washington, DC, the Reut Group and Reut USA conducted a strategic summit to focus on the prospects of leveraging the Abraham Accords to address the different challenges our communities are facing in America.
Over two working days, 60 American Muslims, Arab and Jewish leaders, Israelis and diplomats from the Abraham Accords Countries, communal leaders, think tankers, business people, and philanthropists all worked together to frame shared threats and opportunities concerning the Abraham Accords and extract a model for local Jewish-Arab-Muslim cooperation.
The summit suggested that the Abraham Accords may provide an incredible opportunity to address social polarization and illiberalism in America. We had a fantastic line-up and stimulating conversations, including Tom Friedman (NYT) offering his unique perspective.
On the second day of the summit, the participants met for a presentation at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and the Foundation For Defence For Democracy to discuss US policy in the middle east.
